Abstract

PURPOSE: A vibration testing device of a steering wheel in a vehicle is provided to reduce test time, and to improve a cowl cross member conveniently by mounting the cowl cross member with a specific test jig and by testing vibration with installing a steering wheel in the cowl cross member. CONSTITUTION: A steering wheel vibration tester is composed of a cowl cross member supporting bar(4) installing a cowl cross member(2) horizontally; a steering column(6) mounted at the cowl cross member to rotate; a steering wheel(8) connected to an upper part of the steering column; a steering column supporting bar(12) in the lower part of a base(10) supporting a side of the steering column; a vibration generator(14) connected to the lower part of the steering column to generate vibration to the steering column; and a vibration sensor(16) attached to the steering wheel to detect the vibration of the steering wheel. Vibration is transmitted through the steering column to the steering wheel in rotating the vibration generator. The vibration from the steering wheel is measured with detecting vibration by the vibration sensor, and the improvement test is repeated with comparing the improved steering column and cowl cross member with initial products.
