Description
Claims (21)
- 물품에 입사된 방사의 편파특성을 변경하는 편파 변경수단이 부여된 물품식별장치에 있어서,램덤하지 않게 편파된 마이크로파 방사 소스와;상기 방사의 편파특성 변화를 검출하는 검출수단을 포함하는 물품 식별장치.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 편파변경수단은 이를 통한 송신의 특성을 변경하는 수단을 포함하는 물품 식별장치.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 편파변경수단은 이로부터의 반사의 특성을 변경하는 수단을 포함하는 물품 식별장치.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 마이크로파 방사는 제1 편파평면을 가지며 상기 편파변경수단은 상기 편파평면을 제2 편파평면으로 변경하는 수단을 포함하는 물품 식별장치.
- 제4항에 있어서,송신 안테나 및 적합한 마이크로파 방사 검출수단에 접속된 수신 안테나를 포함하며, 상기 수신 안테나는 상기 제2 편파평면을 갖는 마이크로파 방사를 수신하도록 배치된 물품 식별장치.
- 제4항에 있어서,상기 제1 및 제2 편파평면은 직교하는 것인 물품 식별장치.
- 제5항에 있어서,상기 송신안테나 및 상기 수신 안테나 중 적어도 하나는 도파관인 물품 식별장치.
- 제4항에 있어서,상기 편파 변경수단은 적어도 2쌍의 다이폴 암을 갖는 적어도 하나의 특징을 포함하며, 각 쌍의 다이폴 암은 상기 제1 편파평면 혹은 상기 제2 편파평면 중 서로다른 것에 평행하게 배치되고 상기 특징은 물품 상에 혹은 물품 내에 배치된 물품 식별장치.
- 제4항에 있어서,상기 편파 변경수단은 상기 제1 편파평면에 평행하거나 직교되는 방향에 대해 제로가 아닌 각도 θ의 방위로 에지가 놓인 적어도 하나의 특징을 포함하는 물품 식별장치.
- 제9항에 있어서,상기 각도 θ는 45°인 물품 식별장치.
- 제8항에 있어서,상기 혹은 각각의 특징은 상기 물품 상에 혹은 그 내에 배치된 스트립인 물품 식별장치.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 편파 변경수단은 도전성 포일, 도전성 잉크, 도전성 산화물, 금속섬유 혹은 탄소섬유 중 어느 하나를 포함하는 물품 식별장치.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 편파 변경수단은 절연물질을 포함하는 물품 식별장치.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 편파 변경수단은 식별코드를 제공하는 하나 이상의 선택된 위치의 배열이 식별코드를 제공하는 이들 위치에서, 상기 편파 변경수단에 의한 편파특성의 변경을 방지하는 위장(covert) 수단을 더 포함하는 물품 식별장치.
- 제14항에 있어서,상기 편파 변경수단은 방사의 편파특성을 변경하는 복수의 특징을 포함하며, 이에 의해서 하나 이상의 선택된 특징은 이에 위장수단을 적용하여 하나 이상의 선택된 특징 혹은 특징들에 의한 편파특성의 변경을 방지하는 물품 식별장치.
- 제15항에 있어서,상기 편파특성의 변경을 방지하는 위장수단은 하나 이상의 도전물질층을 포함하는 물품 식별장치.
- 제1항 또는 제14항에 있어서,상기 편파 변경수단을 방위를 가지며, 상기 검출수단은 상기 편파 변경수단의 방위를 판정하는 수단을 포함하는 물품 식별장치.
- 제17항에 있어서,상기 방위를 판정하는 수단은 송신 안테나 및 수신 안테나를 구비한 호모다인 수신기를 포함하고, 이들 안테나는 사용시, 상기 편파 변경수단이 상기 호모다인 수신기의 송신 안테나와 상기 호모다인(Homodyne) 수신기의 수신 안테나 사이에 놓이도록 배치된 물품 식별장치.
- 제17항에 있어서,상기 편파 변경수단은 복수의 특징을 포함하며, 상기 특징들 중 적어도 하나는 상기 특징 혹은 다른 특징들과는 비슷하지 않은 방위를 갖도록 배치되고, 이에 의해서, 상기 특징방위의 배치는 식별코드를 제공하는 물품 식별장치.
- 물품 식별방법에 있어서,(i) 램덤하지 않게 편파된 마이크로파 방사의 편파 특성을 변경하는 편파 변경수단을 식별될 물품에 부여하는 단계;(ii) 램덤하지 않게 편파된 마이크로파 방사로 물품들을 조사(illuminating)하는 단계; 및(iii) 상기 방사의 편파특성 변화를 검출하는 단계를 포함하는 물품 식별방법.
- 제1항 내지 제19항 중 어느 한 항에서의 물품들의 식별에서 사용하기 위한 물품에 있어서,식별목적으로, 램덤하지 않게 편파된 마이크로파 방사의 편파특성을 변경하는 편파 변경수단을 포함하고, 상기 편파 변경수단은 식별될 물품 상에 혹은 그 내에 배치하기에 적합한, 물품.
