Abstract

PURPOSE: An apparatus and method are provided for upgrading a boot-ROM code of a mobile communication system by a boot-ROM management processor based on an upgrade instruction of a base station manager by providing a programmable boot-ROM to a base station. CONSTITUTION: A base station manager(110) and a base station(120) are connected through wired line. The base station manager(120) may become a base station transmission system or a base station controller. A programmable boot-ROM(130) is installed in a corresponding processor board(not shown) of the base station(120). The boot-ROM(130) has a non-volatile characteristic and a read and write function. The boot-ROM(130) includes a start loader(not shown) having an information of the board. Therefore, when a power is inputted into the base station(120), the initial loader receives a system loader from the base station manager(110) in accordance with a control of the controller(140) of a corresponding loader.
