Description
It relates to a vehicle and a control method thereof, and more particularly, to detecting the temperature of an engine exhaust heat recovery device of a vehicle to determine whether the engine of the vehicle is driven, and to transmit a warning signal to a driver.
A vehicle refers to a device capable of transporting people or goods to a destination while driving on a road or a track. A vehicle can move to various positions using one or more wheels installed on a vehicle body. Such a vehicle may include a three-wheeled or four-wheeled vehicle, a two-wheeled vehicle such as a motorcycle, a construction machine, a bicycle, and a train running on a rail disposed on a track.
In general, an engine exhaust heat recovery device of a vehicle is installed in an exhaust pipe between a catalyst and a silencer to improve fuel efficiency by increasing the temperature of coolant used in an engine, water pump, radiator, etc. or transmission oil by using waste heat discharged to the atmosphere. It is a device that allows you to Such an engine exhaust heat recovery device includes a bypass pipe and a valve device for changing the flow of exhaust gas depending on whether preheating of cooling water and transmission oil is required or not.
When the engine is operated to drive the vehicle, the surface temperature of the exhaust heat recovery device increases. Therefore, when the vehicle stops after driving and the stopped area is a hay area with dry grass or a fire risk area with paper, there is a risk of fire due to the high-temperature exhaust heat recovery device.
In addition, in the case of a hybrid vehicle, the exhaust gas temperature is higher than that of a general vehicle due to engine characteristics, and when the engine is operated to charge the battery when the vehicle is stopped, the surface temperature of the exhaust heat recovery device rapidly rises.
Therefore, recently, the importance of controlling the surface temperature of the exhaust heat recovery device of a vehicle has emerged.
