Abstract

The expandable seat-type butterfly valve comprises: a valve body; a rotating shaft vertically penetrating the valve body; a disk rotating along the rotating shaft inside the valve body; a seat member tightly coupled along the inner circumferential surface of the valve body; and an expansion means applying an expansion force to the seat member. According to the present invention, the disk comes in contact with the seat member expanded by compressed air to close the valve body, and rotates in a non-contact state resulting from the seat member's contact by an elastic force of the seat member, to open the valve body. Therefore, unlike conventional ones, there is no wear or damage to the seat member, so it is possible to greatly reduce the cost and effort caused by maintenance of the seat member.
