반려동물용 기능성 간식 조성물 {Functional snack composition for pets}Functional snack composition for pets {Functional snack composition for pets}

The present invention relates to a functional snack composition for companion animals comprising meat, fish, seafood and a natural mixed extract, and a method for preparing the snack composition.

Recently, the domestic and overseas companion animal-related business market is gradually expanding. This is analyzed to be the cause of the increase in single-person households and the strengthening of the family concept for companion animals. According to this change in culture, businesses related to raising companion animals are showing rapid growth, and the companion animal product market is also growing rapidly through the launch of premium products and diversification of items. In fact, the average expenditure on pet-related items per household by Statistics Korea has increased by 9.6% over the past five years. Among them, the pet food sector shows the largest increase. As the tendency to think of companion animals as family increases, interest in and investment in food for companion animals also increases, leading to more high-quality products. According to the Korea Pet Food Association, the size of the pet food market grew from KRW 732.3 billion in 2014 to KRW 969.6 billion in 2016, and is currently forecast to reach KRW 1 trillion. The recent trend in purchasing food for companion animals is the increase in consumption of high-quality feed, the increase in purchase intention to purchase prescription food that can treat diseases as well as high nutritional value, and the demand for wet food with high protein and moisture content as the population of cats increases. It can be counted as an increase.

(Euromonitor(2017). Pet food in South Korea; Dog, Cat, Others). Food for companion animals can be divided into stocks and snacks, and stocks belong to feed, and there are various types according to the age and characteristics of companion animals. Snacks refer to food for companion animals, excluding feed food, and are divided into various products and types according to the type of raw material and processing characteristics. As of 2016, the companion animal snack market was estimated at KRW 82.2 billion for dogs and KRW 17.2 billion for cats, with a total size of KRW 99.4 billion, accounting for about 18% of the total companion animal food market (Euromonitor (2017)) Pet food in South Korea; Dog, Cat, Others).

Experimental Example 1. Antibacterial activity against oral harmful bacteria

Actinobacillus actinomycetemcomitans strain and Pasteurella multocida strain, which were found to be harmful bacteria in the oral cavity of cats (Veterinary Microbiology 148 (2011) 93-98), were cultured in a CO 2 incubator for culturing under anaerobic and microaerobic conditions. For the antibacterial activity of the extract of the present invention against oral harmful bacteria, the minimum inhibition concentration (MIC) was measured using the broth dilution method.

Specifically, 100 μl of a culture solution pre-cultured for 24 to 48 hours in a liquid medium of each strain is inoculated into a brucella medium in which the concentration of each extract is 6.25, 12.5, 25, 50, 100 μg/ml added. After culturing for 24 to 72 hours, the growth degree of each bacteria was measured at 660 nm using a spectrophotometer to determine the minimum growth inhibitory concentration of the single extract and the mixed extract.

As shown in Table 1 above, the extracts of sancho, gold, or windbreak alone did not exhibit antibacterial activity at a concentration of 100 μg/ml or less, or showed a minimum growth inhibitory concentration of 50 or 100 μg/ml. In comparison, in the case of the mixed extracts of sancho, gold, and windbreak , it was confirmed that A. actinomycetemcomitans showed excellent antibacterial activity against oral harmful bacteria at 25 μg/ml and P. multocida at 12.5 μg/ml.

In other words, it was found that the mixed extract of sancho, gold, and windbreak of the present invention has synergistic activity compared to the extract of each natural product alone in terms of antibacterial activity against harmful bacteria in the oral cavity of cats.

Experimental Example 2. Inhibitory activity of inflammatory cytokines

구체적으로, HGF-1 (human gingival fibroblast) 치은세포를 1×106 cells/well 농도로 24-well plate에 접종하고, 5% CO2 인큐베이터에서 배양하였다. In order to confirm the effect of the extract of the present invention on oral inflammation, the inhibitory effect of inflammatory cytokines on cells induced in vitro was measured. Specifically, HGF-1 (human gingival fibroblast) gingival cells were inoculated into a 24-well plate at a concentration of 1×10 6 cells/well, and cultured in a 5% CO 2 incubator. Thereafter, inflammation was induced by treatment with 1 μg/ml of Pg-LPS, and each extract was treated at a concentration of 150 μg/ml. After culturing for 24 hours, the expression levels of inflammatory cytokines IL-6 and IL-8 in the supernatant obtained by centrifuging the culture medium were quantified using an ELISA kit.

As shown in Table 4, the composition of Example 1 containing 70 parts by weight of each of the mixed extracts of sancho, gold, and windbreak showed a degree of preference similar to that of the composition of Comparative Example 1 that did not contain the mixed extract by showing a degree of preference of 90% or more. confirmed that. On the other hand, it was confirmed that the composition of Comparative Example 3 containing 70 parts by weight of the mixed extract had a significantly lowered degree of preference to about 69%. As a result, it was found that the preference of cats decreased. In addition, in the case of the composition of Comparative Example 2 including the mixed extract in a relatively low content, it can be expected that the antibacterial activity or anti-inflammatory activity against stomatitis will be lower than that of the composition of Example 1.

That is, it was found that the feed composition for companion animals of the present invention contains a natural mixed extract, thereby exhibiting antibacterial and anti-inflammatory activity against oral harmful bacteria, can help prevent stomatitis in companion animals, and its preference is also excellent. .
