Claims (4)

배기가스의 유동 시 소음을 저감시키도록 배기파이프에 연결되는 차량용 배기장치로써,
배기가스가 일단에 형성된 유입구를 통해 유입되고 타단에 형성된 배출구를 통해 배출되도록 배기파이프에 연결되며, 상기 유입구와 배출구 사이에서 내경이 확장된 공명챔버가 형성된 주파이프;와
상기 주파이프에 장착되어 주파이프로 유입된 배기가스의 유동을 허용 또는 차단하도록 개폐가 이뤄지는 밸브; 및
상기 밸브가 닫혔을 때 배기가스가 우회하여 주파이프의 배출구로 유동하도록 일단은 주파이프의 유입구측과 개통되고 타단은 주파이프의 배출구측과 개통된 분기파이프;를 포함하고,
상기 밸브가 닫혔을 때 헬름홀츠 공명(Helmholtz resonance)에 따라 공명챔버에 의해 배기가스의 유동소음이 낮춰지도록 상기 밸브는 공명챔버에서 배기가스가 배출되는 출구측을 폐쇄할 수 있는 위치에 장착되고,
상기 주파이프에 공명챔버와 밸브가 직렬로 배치되고, 분기파이프가 주파이프에 병렬로 배치되고, 상기 밸브가 닫히면 상기 공명챔버가 공명기 역할을 하고, 상기 밸브가 열리면 주파이프 및 분기파이프 양쪽으로 배기가스가 유동하는 구성을 특징으로 하는 차량용 배기장치.
