Abstract
The present invention relates to a technique capable of minimizing erroneous charging of a hi-pass usage fee due to vehicle type misrecognition. According to the present invention, a method of charging a toll for a misrecognized vehicle type in a multi-lane hi-pass system includes: a first step of classifying, by a vehicle sensing controller, a vehicle type into first vehicle type information and second vehicle type information, such that the second vehicle type information is determined as final vehicle type information when a current temperature is equal to or higher than a preset reference temperature, and the first vehicle type information is determined as the final vehicle type information when the current temperature is lower than the preset reference temperature to transmit the final vehicle type information to a main controller; a second step of obtaining, by an image processing controller, a lane image by driving an image capturing device, and analyzing the lane image to transmit extracted vehicle number information to the main controller; a third step of obtaining, by a wireless communication controller, hi-pass terminal information to transmit the hi-pass terminal information to the main controller; a fourth step of generating, by the main controller, toll charge information including the vehicle number information, the vehicle type information, and the hi-pass terminal information to provide the toll charge information to a server; and a fifth step of charging, by the server, the toll based on the vehicle type information such that, when the vehicle type information received from the main controller and the vehicle type information stored in a database for the vehicle number do not match with each other, the toll is charged based on the vehicle type information stored in the database.
