Abstract

The present invention relates to an apparatus for switching the direction of a workpiece and more particularly, to an apparatus which can switch the direction of a workpiece in order to vertically turn the position of the workpiece. The apparatus for switching the direction of a workpiece includes a main body, a vertical bar, a guide bar, and a jig. The vertical bar is mounted in the main body to be able to vertically slide. The guide bar is mounted on the vertical bar to be able to slide back and forth, has an inserting groove at the end, and has position grooves formed on the inner circumference of the inserting groove at regular intervals along the circumference direction. The jig has a handle for rotation, and one end of the jig is inserted into the inserting groove of the guide bar to be able to rotate at the end of the guide bar. The jig also has a stopping groove formed on the outer circumference of one end thereof, a stopping ball to be inserted into the stopping groove, and a spring for supporting the stopping ball so that the stopping ball can be inserted into the position groove of the guide bar during rotation in order to rotate at regular intervals and to be exposed from the stopping groove. Therefore, the jig can be inserted into the workpiece for gripping. According the present invention, the apparatus for switching the direction of a workpiece can grip the workpiece and then rotate the workpiece at a fixed angle.
