이후 도크 내에 물을 유입하여 진수선박을 부양시키되, 침수대상선박은 반목의 하중이 부가됨으로써 물에 뜨지 않고 침수되도록 하는 침수단계;
이후 진수선박을 도크 밖으로 예인한 후 도크 내부에 물을 빼고 동일 위치에서 침수대상선박의 나머지 건조를 진행하는 동일위치 건조단계;를 포함하여 구성되는 것을 특징으로 하는 영구자석을 통해 반목의 중량을 부가하여 침수되도록 하는 탠덤 건조공법.
