Description
BACKGROUND OF THE
Lighting devices employing light guides capable of transmitting light over long distances with relatively low transmission losses can be applied to a variety of interior and exterior buildings. Light guides, also called light conduits, light pipes or light tubes, are used to effectively distribute decorative or functional light over a relatively large area.
The light guide is used for the purpose of illuminating any one area, as well as the use of point illumination for illuminating a particular point. Light traveling inside the light guide may be distributed to the outside to illuminate a specific area or to maximize a decorative effect.
In order to control the length of the light guide, one or more light guides produced in a particular shape may be combined with each other. In this case, when an integrated connection part is added to the light guide to connect the light guide, the manufacturing cost of the light guide may increase, or foreign matter may flow into the connection part to shorten the life of the light guide.
Accordingly, an object of the present invention is to provide a lighting system comprising one or more light pipes, by using a coupler and a fastening member to connect the light pipes, thereby reducing manufacturing costs and efficiently connecting the light pipes, It is to provide a lighting system that can effectively block foreign matter that can be introduced from.
In order to achieve the above object, an illumination system using a light pipe according to the present invention includes a hollow first light pipe and a second light pipe for transmitting and distributing light, and an outer peripheral surface of the first light pipe and the second light pipe. According to the present invention, the light pipes can be combined using a detachable coupler and fastening member to efficiently join one or more light pipes, reduce manufacturing costs, and have a packing in the coupler to be introduced through the connection from the outside. It can effectively block foreign substances that may be present.
Hereinafter, preferred embodiments of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings.

When the total reflection process is repeated, the light proceeds substantially along the longitudinal direction of the light guide, and almost no loss of light occurs in the air inside the light guide. Therefore, light can be transmitted through the light guide without loss, not only in the short distance but also in the long distance.

While the preferred embodiments of the present invention have been shown and described, the present invention is not limited to the specific embodiments described above, and the present invention is not limited to the specific embodiments of the present invention, without departing from the spirit of the invention as claimed in the claims.
