Abstract
Description
Claims (15)
- 화상들 및 화상들의 그룹들에서 질의 물체(query object)를 검색하는 방법으로서,검색 장치가 질의 입력을 수신하는 단계, 및상기 검색 장치가, 상기 질의 입력을, 복수의 화상들의 저장된 표현들 또는 저장된 화상들의 표현들과 매칭(matching)시키는 단계를 포함하고,상기 복수의 표현들 각각은, 화상 또는 화상들의 그룹에 나타나는 물체의 복수의 관측면 기술자(view descriptor)들 - 각각의 관측면 기술자는 상기 물체의 상이한 관측면에 대응함 - , 및 각각의 관측면 기술자에 대해 상기 각각의 관측면이 상기 화상에 나타나는 상기 물체의 관측면에 대응하는 때의 표시를 포함하는 방법.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 질의 입력은, 상기 검색이 질의 관측면과 동일한 관측면에서 상기 질의 물체를 보여주는 화상들 또는 화상들의 그룹들에 제한되어야 하는지의 여부를 표시하는 것을 포함하는 방법.
- 제1항 또는 제2항에 있어서,상기 매칭 단계에 따라 가장 높은 유사성(similarity)을 갖는 매칭들을 인출(retrieving)하고 표시하는 단계를 더 포함하는 방법.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 복수의 표현들 각각은, 상기 각각의 관측면이 상기 화상에 나타나는 상기 물체의 관측면에 대응하는지의 여부를 표시하기 위하여 각각의 관측면 기술자와 연관된 플래그를 포함하는 방법.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 화상들의 그룹은 화상들의 시퀀스(sequence)인 일군의 화상을 포함하는 방법.
- 제5항에 있어서,상기 화상들의 시퀀스는 비디오 또는 영화(film)로부터 나온 것인 방법.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 복수의 관측면 기술자 중 적어도 하나의 관측면 기술자는 상기 각각의 관측면에서의 상기 물체의 가시 특징(visible feature)의 표현을 포함하는 방법.
- 제7항에 있어서,상기 복수의 관측면 기술자 중 적어도 하나의 관측면 기술자는 상기 각각의 관측면에서의 상기 물체의 형상(shape) 또는 색채(color) 또는 질감(texture)의 표현을 포함하는 방법.
- 제8항에 있어서,상기 복수의 관측면 기술자 중 형상 관측면 기술자는 CSS(curvature scale space) 표현을 포함하는 방법.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 매칭 단계 전에, 저장된 화상의 상기 표현을 도출(deriving)하는 단계를 더 포함하는 방법.

- 화상들 및 화상들의 그룹들에서 질의 물체를 검색하는 장치로서,질의를 입력하는 수단, 및상기 질의를, 복수의 화상들의 저장된 표현들 또는 저장된 화상들의 표현들과 매칭시키는 수단을 포함하고,상기 복수의 표현들 각각은 화상 또는 화상들의 그룹에 나타나는 물체의 복수의 관측면 기술자들 - 각각의 관측면 기술자는 상기 물체의 상이한 관측면에 대응함 - , 및 각각의 관측면 기술자에 대해 상기 각각의 관측면이 상기 화상에 나타나는 상기 물체의 관측면에 대응하는 때의 표시를 포함하는 장치.
- 제12항에 있어서,상기 매칭 전에, 저장된 화상들의 상기 표현들을 도출하는 수단을 더 포함하는 장치.
- 제1항의 방법을 구현하기 위한, 컴퓨터 실행가능한 프로세스 단계들을 저장하는 컴퓨터 판독가능한 기억 매체.
