특히, DVD는 LD(Lager Disk)나 VHS(Video Home System) 또는 VCD(Video Compact Disk) 등과 같은 기존의 방식에 비해 매우 현장감이 있는 음향을 제공한다는 장점을 갖는다. Recently, home theaters are becoming popular. A home theater literally means a movie theater that is decorated at home. It is also called a home theater. Home theater was used before DVD (Digatal Versatile Disk) was introduced, but generalized as DVD system became popular. The DVD system is excellent, providing users with picture quality and realistic sound. In particular, DVD has an advantage of providing a very realistic sound compared to conventional methods such as LD (Lager Disk), VHS (Video Home System) or VCD (Video Compact Disk). For example, in the case of "Private Ryan," the sound from the real speaker is heard from the back to the front when the bullet flies backwards. In the Matrix, the sound transmitted through the speakers as the helicopter rolls over the head of the protagonist feels as if the helicopter is actually spinning around the head. It is multichannel digital sound that enables such stereoscopic sound. The multichannel digital sound currently used mainly is a digital channel sound known as a 5.1 channel digital sound or a six channel digital sound.
The 5.1 channel is 5.1 channels, including two left and right front channels in front of the user, two left and right rear channels in the rear of the user, five channels of the center channel in the center, and a subwoofer 0.1 channel that reinforces bass. Speakers in the front channel are also called main speakers as speakers located in front of the listener. The role of the main speaker is mainly responsible for the background music and the effect sound connected from the front to the left and right. In fact, the main speaker is used larger than the other speakers, which are used for the sake of stereo channel reproduction, and need not necessarily be larger than the other speakers. The center channel speaker is called the center speaker and is mainly responsible for the dialogue part of the film or the human voice, or vocal, in music. Of course, some music or sound effects are also included and delivered to the user. Center speakers are usually placed on televisions, so that they sound like the actor is talking right on the screen. The rear channel speakers are called rear speakers or surround speakers and are installed on the sides of the user. The rear speakers are mainly responsible for the surround effect. In the past, surround was mono, but stereo surround was used on the 5.1 channel. On the other hand, the subwoofer is a low frequency (Low Frequency) speaker, unlike other speakers are not significantly limited in position. The reason for this is that bass sounds are less directive than mid and high notes. Most subwoofers can play up to 20 to 30Hz, while a superior subwoofer can play down to lower sounds. This bass gives you a more realistic sound reproduction as well as sound. On the other hand, the subwoofer may or may not have its own amplifier. Recently, an active type that has its own amplifier to obtain its own volume control and powerful sound is widely used. Meanwhile, among the speakers, except for the subwoofer, the speakers may have different positions depending on their roles, but may not be physically different. In the case of the center speaker, there are only a few differences for the metabolism of the film.
Multi-channel digital sound reproduction system has various channels such as 4 channels and 4.1 channels as well as 5.1 channels. Recently, home theaters with 6.1 channels have been introduced. When installing a home theater with multi-channel digital sound reproduction, each speaker must be connected to its own terminal.
FIG. 1A shows a speaker connection terminal of a 5.1 channel home theater system, and FIG. 1B shows a speaker layout for a home theater.
Each speaker has its own terminal to be connected to the playback device. That is, the front left speaker should be connected to the front left speaker terminal and the center speaker should be connected to the center speaker terminal. Once the speakers are properly plugged in, they should be installed in their place. The front left speaker is placed on the front left side of the home theater system, the front light speaker is placed on the front right side of the home theater system, the rear left speaker is placed behind the user's left side, and the rear light speaker is placed behind the user's right side. The center speaker is placed above or below the display in front of the front. The woofer has less directivity, so it can be installed in a convenient place. When the speaker is placed properly, users can enjoy 5.1 channel stereo sound.
However, if the user wants to watch the movie by moving the display for some reason, the user does not need to move the display, but the speaker also has to move one by one. The characteristics of the speakers are similar except for the subwoofer, so if you do not want to move the speakers, you should change at least the terminals to which they are connected.
If you watch the movie by changing the direction without changing the speaker connection terminal, there is an unnaturalness that does not match the direction and sound of the sound. On the other hand, even when simply trying to listen to music, when using such a conventional device, there is an inconvenience of sitting and listening only to the direction in which the home theater is installed. Therefore, there is a need for a multi-channel digital sound reproducing method or a reproducing apparatus irrespective of the user's direction for the reasons described above.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION The present invention has been made in view of the above-described necessity, and a technical object of the present invention is to provide a multi-channel digital sound reproduction method and apparatus therefor that can correct a speaker channel according to a direction set by a user.

Hereinafter, the channel correction matrix set in the
Here, C1 to C6 denote sound signals by sound sources of channels 1 to 6, respectively, and S1 to S6 denote sound signals transmitted to the speakers 1 to 6, respectively. On the other hand, the matrix composed of H11 to H66 is a channel correction matrix having different values depending on the position of the user. The value of H11 to H66 is changed according to the position of the user so that sound suitable for the position of the user is output through the speaker. On the other hand, the general multi-channel digital sound reproduction apparatus can display the sound signal transmitted to the speaker by the equation (2).
Here, n denotes the number of channels, C1 to Cn denote sound signals by sound sources of channels 1 to n, respectively, and S1 to Sn denote sound signals that are transmitted to speakers 1 to speaker n, respectively. On the other hand, the matrix composed of H11 to Hnn is a channel correction matrix having different values depending on the position of the user.
The channel correction matrix set in the
A process of setting the channel correction matrix according to the user's location information will be described with reference to FIGS. 3 and 4.
3 shows a channel correction process according to a change in user location according to an embodiment of the present invention.
First, the user inputs user location information using the user interface (s10). The user's location information indicates which direction the user is looking at and in which direction, and the simplest expression of the location information is based on which direction the user is in front, rear, left, and right directions based on the installation direction (reference direction) of the multi-channel digital sound reproducing apparatus. Information indicating whether or not there is. The sound output from each speaker can be adjusted according to the user's location information so that the user can enjoy three-dimensional music at any location. Inputting the user location information through the user interface is the easiest way to set the channel correction matrix of the multichannel digital sound reproducing apparatus. If there is a method of automatically measuring the user's location in the future, the user location information input through the user interface may be replaced with the automatically measured user location information.
When the user's location information is input, it is determined whether the existing location information matches the existing location information (S20). If it does not match the existing position information, that is, if the position information different from the existing position information is input, the channel correction matrix of the channel correction unit is updated (S30). Then, it is determined whether the user location information is properly input through the speaker test process (S40). On the other hand, if the position information that matches the existing position information is input, the speaker is immediately tested without updating the channel correction matrix (s40). The speaker test may use a method of outputting a voice to which speaker each speaker is located. For example, if speaker 1 is set as the front left speaker, the speaker may output the message "Set as front left speaker".
If the speaker test is not complete after the speaker test, the position input is terminated. If not, reset the signal (s50). The resetting process is through the process of S10 to S40.
4 is a diagram illustrating a channel correction process according to a change in user location according to another exemplary embodiment of the present invention.
The user inputs user location information using the user interface (S110).
The user location information may be input in the same manner as the user location information input process of FIG. 3. When the user location information is input, it is determined whether the input location information matches the existing location information (s120). If the location information does not match, the channel correction matrix of the channel correction unit is updated (s130), and the speaker test process (s140). Enter If the input location information matches the existing location information, the system directly enters the speaker test process (s140). Through the speaker test process, the user may determine whether the location information input by the user is correct location information. If the correct position information, the speaker tuning process (s160). If the location information is not correct, the reset process is performed again (s150).
The speaker tuning (s160) is automatically corrected according to the user's position, but the sound transmitted through the speaker is required according to the structure or objects of the actual house is necessary. Through the user tuning the speaker s160, the user can correct the channel in a state in which he or she is most audible. Speaker tuning can be done by simply adjusting the volume of each speaker, but it is possible to change the value of each parameter of the channel correction matrix in consideration of the effect of the direction of the user.
Input of the location information of the user and sound signal values transmitted to the speaker will be described with reference to FIGS. 5A, 5B, 5C, and 5D.
5A, 5B, 5C, and 5D are diagrams showing channels corrected according to user location input on ODS (On Screen Diplay), respectively.
First, referring to FIG. 5A, a user tries to listen to music in a forward direction in which a multi-channel digital sound reproducing apparatus is installed. This is a general direction and is basically set as a user direction unless user location information is input. When the user inputs the forward direction through the OSD, the channel correction matrix is set as shown in Equation 3 below. Each component value of the channel correction matrix according to the position of the user may be a value previously determined as in Equation 3 to Equation 6, or may be a value that is pre-adjusted when the multichannel digital sound reproducing apparatus is first installed.
That is, each speaker outputs the sound output through the terminal originally connected. That is, speaker 1 becomes a front left speaker, speaker 2 becomes a front light speaker, speaker 3 becomes a rear left speaker, speaker 4 becomes a rear light speaker, speaker 5 becomes a center speaker, and speaker 6 becomes a woofer speaker.
Referring to FIG. 5B, the user tries to listen to music while looking at the rear direction in which the multi-channel digital sound reproducing apparatus is installed. In this case, unlike when looking forward, each speaker plays a different role. The channel correction matrix at this time may be set as in Equation 4.
That is, speaker 4 becomes a front left speaker, speaker 3 becomes a front light speaker, speaker 2 becomes a rear left speaker, speaker 1 becomes a rear light speaker, and speaker 6 becomes a woofer speaker. At this time, the role of the center speaker to handle human speech is divided between the speaker 4 and the speaker 3. In other words, speaker 4 outputs the front left speaker sound, but some outputs the sound of the center speaker, and speaker 3 outputs the front light speaker sound, but some outputs the sound of the center speaker. The degree to which the speakers 3 and 4 are responsible for the sound of the center speaker is determined by the value of a in Equation 4. The reason for this is that the center speaker is mainly responsible for the human voice in the movie, which is awkward when the human voice is heard from the back instead of the front. Of course, it is possible to realize the center speaker.
Referring to FIG. 5C, a user tries to listen to music while looking at the right side when the multi-channel digital sound reproducing apparatus is installed. In this case, as with the rear, each speaker has a different role than the front. The channel correction matrix at this time may be set as in Equation 5.
That is, speaker 2 becomes a front left speaker, speaker 4 becomes a front light speaker, speaker 1 becomes a rear left speaker, speaker 3 becomes a rear light speaker, and speaker 6 becomes a woofer speaker. At this time, the role of the center speaker to process human speech is divided into two speakers. The degree to which the speakers 2 and 4 are responsible for the sound of the center speaker is determined by the b value of Equation 5.
Referring to FIG. 5D, a user tries to listen to music while looking to the left when the multi-channel digital sound reproducing apparatus is installed. Again, just like looking backwards, each speaker has a different role than looking forwards. The channel correction matrix at this time may be set as in Equation 6.
That is, speaker 3 becomes a front left speaker, speaker 1 becomes a front light speaker, speaker 4 becomes a rear left speaker, speaker 2 becomes a rear light speaker, and speaker 6 becomes a woofer speaker. At this time, the role of the center speaker to process human speech is divided into two speakers. The degree to which the speakers 1 and 3 are responsible for the sound of the center speaker is determined by the c value of Equation 6.
4 is possible by adjusting the magnitude of each component value of the channel correction matrix. For example, the a, b, and c values may be made larger or smaller, or a certain weight may be given to the one component value. Meanwhile, in the above description, the expression of transmitting a sound signal to the speaker means that the sound signal is transmitted to the speaker connected to the terminal by transmitting the sound signal to the terminal for connecting the speaker. The electric sound signal transmitted to the speaker is output in the air in the form of sound through the speaker.
In the case of using the channel correction matrix, it is possible to easily change the M-channel sound source data into N-channels smaller than M simply. In other words, it is possible to change the 5.1-channel sound into two-channel stereo sound. In this case, it can be calculated by the center equation (7).
S1 and S2 mean signals transmitted to left and right speakers of stereo, respectively. The left speaker carries a 5.1-channel front left and rear left signal and a sound signal multiplied by an appropriate value for the center speaker signal and subwoofer signal, and the light speaker receives 5.1-channel front and rear light signals and the center speaker signal and subwoofer. The sound signal is multiplied by the appropriate value.
By adjusting each component value of the channel correction matrix value, appropriate music can be enjoyed according to the position of the user. In addition, it is also possible to output sound signals of more channels as sound signals of fewer channels.
