Abstract

본 발명은 휴대단말기의 다중매체메시지서비스(Multimedia Message Service: MMS) 메시지 전송을 위해 다수의 사진으로 구성된 사진 슬라이드를 동영상으로 변환하여 한번에 전송할 수 있도록 한 휴대단말기에서의 사진슬라이드의 동영상 변환방법에 관한 것으로, 이와 같은 본 발명은 다수의 사진을 선택하여 사진 슬라이드로 저장하는 단계와; 상기 사진 슬라이드에 대해 멀티미디어 메시지 서비스(Multimedia Message Service: MMS) 전송 설정을 하는 단계와; 상기 사진 슬라이드를 구성하는 사진의 개수에 따라 MMS의 최대 전송가능용량을 고려한 화질과 해상도의 최적 조합을 자동 설정하는 단계와; 상기 최적 조합에 따라 사진 슬라이드를 동영상으로 자동 변환하는 단계를 포함하여 구성된다.

휴대단말기에서의 사진슬라이드의 동영상 변환방법{METHOD FOR CONVERTING PHOTO SLIDE INTO MOVING PICTURE IN MOBILE TERMINAL}
도 1은 본 발명의 일 실시 예에 따른 휴대단말기에서의 사진슬라이드의 동영상 변환방법의 구현 과정을 나타내는 순서도.
도 2는 본 발명에 따른 사진 슬라이드의 동영상 변환 방법의 개념을 나타낸 도면.
본 발명은 휴대단말기에 관한 것으로, 특히 휴대단말기의 MMS 메시지 전송을 위해 다수의 사진으로 구성된 사진 슬라이드를 동영상으로 변환하여 한번에 전송할 수 있도록 한 휴대단말기에서의 사진슬라이드의 동영상 변환방법에 관한 것이다.
카메라 폰과 같은 촬영장치를 구비한 휴대단말기가 널리 보급됨에 따라, 사용자들은 언제 어디서나 손쉽게 사진촬영을 할 수 있게 되었다. 또한 무선 인터넷 기술의 발전으로 사용자들은 휴대단말기를 이용하여 외부 망으로부터 자신의 휴대단말기로 원하는 사진을 손쉽게 다운로드할 수 있게 되었다. 따라서, 촬영된 사진이나 다운로드한 사진을 간단한 메시지와 함께 원하는 상대방에게 전송할 수 있도 록 하는 멀티미디어 메시지 서비스(Multimedia Message Service: MMS)에도 사용자들의 관심이 높아지게 되었다.
상기 MMS를 통해 사진을 전송하는 경우, 한 두 장의 사진을 전송하는 데에는 아무런 문제가 없다. 그러나 첨부하려는 사진의 개수가 많아서 그 용량이 MMS 메시지의 최대 전송가능용량을 초과하거나 최대 전송개수를 초과하는 경우에는 MMS 전송이 불가능하다.
예를 들어, 일반적인 MMS의 최대 전송가능용량은 400Kbyte인 경우, 고급화질에 640*480 픽셀(pixel)의 해상도를 갖는 사진 한 장의 용량은 70Kbyte 정도로 5장까지는 전송이 가능하다고 볼 수 있다. 하지만 대다수의 통신 사업자가 4장까지를 최대 전송개수(첨부사진 개수)로 제한을 두고있어 실질적으로는 4장을 초과하는 사진은 첨부가 불가능하다.
따라서 MMS의 최대 전송개수를 초과하는 다수의 사진을 MMS로 전송하려는 경우, 사용자는 다수의 사진을 여러 번에 걸쳐 나눠 보내야만 하는 불편함이 있다. 또한 MMS는 건당 과금 방식으로 MMS 메시지를 한번 보낼 때마다 그에 따른 요금이 부과되기 때문에 다수의 사진을 전송하는데 있어서, 많은 전송 요금이 소요되는 문제점이 있다.
또한 상기와 같은 MMS의 최대 전송개수의 문제를 해결하기 위해, 다수의 사진들을 하나의 사진 슬라이드로 묶어 하나의 첨부파일로 전송하는 기술이 고안되었지만 여전히 용량제한의 문제가 남아있고, 사진 슬라이드 기능이 지원되지 않거나 송신 단말기와 동기화가 되지 않는 단말기에는 전송이 되지 않는 문제점이 있다.
또한 휴대단말기의 기종에 따라 사진의 포맷이 다르기 때문에 기종이 다른 휴대단말기로 사진을 전송하는 경우 서버에서 수신단말기의 사진 포맷에 맞게 전송되는 사진의 포맷을 변환해야 하므로 그에 따른 비용 및 자원이 낭비되는 문제점이 있다.
본 발명은 상기와 같은 문제점을 해결하기 위하여 제안된 것으로, 본 발명의 목적은 수 차례의 MMS 전송이 요구되는 다수의 사진에 대해 사진 슬라이드를 동영상으로 변환하여 한번에 전송할 수 있도록 한 휴대단말기에서의 사진슬라이드의 동영상 변환방법을 제공함에 있다.
본 발명의 다른 목적은 사진슬라이드기능 지원이 되지 않는 수신 단말기를 위해 사진 슬라이드를 동영상으로 변환하여 전송할 수 있도록 한 휴대단말기에서의 사진슬라이드의 동영상 변환방법을 제공함에 있다.
상기의 목적을 달성하기 위하여 본 발명에 의한 휴대단말기에서의 사진슬라이드의 동영상 변환방법은, 다수의 사진을 선택하여 사진 슬라이드로 저장하는 단계와; 상기 사진 슬라이드에 대해 멀티미디어 메시지 서비스(Multimedia Message Service: MMS) 전송 설정을 하는 단계와; 상기 사진 슬라이드를 구성하는 사진의 개수에 따라 MMS의 최대 전송가능용량을 고려한 화질과 해상도의 최적 조합을 자동 설정하는 단계와; 상기 최적 조합에 따라 사진 슬라이드를 동영상으로 자동 변환하는 단계를 포함하여 구성되며, 상기 최적 조합은 사진 슬라이드에 포함된 사진의 개수에 따라 그 화질 및 해상도가 미리 지정된 기초 설정 값에 의해 설정되는 것을 특징으로 한다.
바람직하게, 상기 최적 조합은 MMS의 최대 전송가능용량을 고려한 화질과 해 상도(사이즈)의 조절인 것을 특징으로 한다. 상기 화질은 최고급 화질, 고급화질, 보통화질로 구분되며, 상기 해상도는 640*480, 320*240, 176*144, 128*96 픽셀(pixel) 등으로 구분될 수 있다.
바람직하게, 상기 사진 슬라이드의 동영상 변환은 화면에 표시되는 사진 슬라이드를 캡쳐(capture)하는 방식인 것을 특징으로 한다. 휴대단말기는 상기 사진 슬라이드를 캡쳐하는데 걸리는 대기시간동안 캡쳐되는 동영상을 미리보기 형식으로 사용자에게 보여줄 수 있다.

본 발명을 설명함에 있어서, 관련된 공지 기능 혹은 구성에 대한 구체적인 설명이 본 발명의 요지를 불필요하게 흐릴 수 있다고 판단된 경우 그 상세한 설명은 생략한다.
도 1은 본 발명의 일 실시 예에 따른 휴대단말기에서의 사진슬라이드의 동영 상 변환방법의 구현 과정을 나타내는 순서도이다.
도 1을 참조하면, 사용자는 휴대단말기를 이용하여 촬영하거나 무선 혹은 유선으로 다운로드 한 사진들 중에서 전송을 원하는 다수의 사진을 선택하고(S110), 선택한 사진들에 대하여 사진 슬라이드로 저장하도록 설정하면, 휴대단말기는 상기 다수의 사진들을 하나의 사진 슬라이드로 묶어 슬라이드 데이터베이스에 저장한다(S120). 사용자는 사진 슬라이드 메뉴 설정을 통해 상기 슬라이드 데이터베이스에 저장된 사진 슬라이드에 다른 사진을 추가하거나 슬라이드에 포함되어 있던 사진을 삭제할 수도 있다.
사용자가 상기 사진 슬라이드에 대해 전송을 설정하면(S130), 휴대단말기는 최적 조합에 따라 상기 사진 슬라이드를 동영상으로 변환한다(S140). 상기 최적 조합은 화질과 해상도(사이즈)의 최적화된 조합을 말한다. 상기 화질은 최고급화질, 고급화질, 보통화질로 구분되며, 상기 해상도는 640*480, 320*240, 176*144, 128*96 픽셀(pixel) 등으로 구분될 수 있다.
상기 최적 조합은 MMS의 최대 전송가능용량 및 사진 슬라이드에 포함된 사진의 개수에 따라 화질 및 해상도의 조합이 휴대단말기의 기초설정(default) 값으로 지정된 것이다. 예를 들어, MMS의 최대 전송가능용량이 400Kbytes이고 장 당 5초의 재생(화면표시) 시간을 두는 경우, 사진 슬라이드에 포함된 사진이 14장이면 이 때의 최적 조합은 고급화질의 320*240의 해상도로 맞추도록 미리 지정된 것이다.
상기 최적 조합은 휴대단말기의 기초설정 값에 따르지만, 상기 기초설정 값에 따를 것인지 아니면 화질이나 해상도 중 어느 하나를 우선 순위로 할 것인지를 결정하는 사용자의 환경설정을 통해 변경될 수 있다. 예를 들어, 사용자가 환경설정을 통해 해상도를 우선 순위로 두면 상기와 같은 경우(MMS의 최대 전송가능용량이 400Kbytes, 사진 슬라이드에 포함된 사진이 14장인 경우), 최적 조합은 보통화질의 640*480의 해상도로 변경된다.
또한, 상기 동영상의 오디오에 대해서는 기초 설정 값으로 무음 녹화를 하여 아무런 소리가 없도록 한다. 사용자의 추가 설정에 의해 사용자의 음성이나 효과음, 배경음악 등이 상기 동영상의 오디오로 설정될 수도 있지만 오디오로 인해 전송될 사진의 개수가 줄어들게 되므로 본 발명에서는 동영상의 오디오에 대해서는 무음으로 고려하기로 한다.
상기 동영상의 변환이 완료되면 휴대단말기는 사용자로부터 입력 또는 선택된 수신처(수신 전화번호, 이-메일 주소, 인터넷 URL 등)로 변환된 동영상을 전송한다(S160).
상기 사진 슬라이드의 동영상 변환은 사진 슬라이드가 화면에 표시되는 것을 그대로 캠코더로 촬영하는 것처럼 동영상 캡쳐 보드와 같은 회로 장치를 이용하여 캡쳐하는 것이다. 이는 도 2를 참고하여 설명하기로 한다.
도 2는 본 발명에 따른 사진 슬라이드의 동영상 변환 방법의 개념을 설명한 도면이다.
도 2에 도시 된 바와 같이, 여러 장의 사진으로 구성된 사진 슬라이드는 영상 캡쳐를 통해 하나의 동영상으로 변환(혹은 생성)된다. 이때 기초설정 값에 따라 동영상의 화질이나 해상도는 최적 조합으로 설정되고, 오디오는 무음 녹화를 기본 으로 한다. 전술한 바와 같이, 상기 기초설정 값은 사용자의 선택에 의해 설정이 변경될 수 있다. 상기 사진 슬라이드를 구성하는 사진의 포맷은 JPEG나 BMP 등으로 휴대단말기의 기종에 따라 다르지만 휴대단말기에서 사용되는 동영상의 포맷은 MPEG-4와 같은 해당 국가에서 널리 사용되는 단일 포맷이다.
상기와 같은 최적 조합에 따른 동영상의 변환에는 적게는 수 초에서 많게는 수 분의 시간이 걸린다. 이때 휴대단말기는 '동영상 변환이 실행 중입니다. 잠시만 기다리십시오.'와 같은 알림 메시지를 띄울 수 있고, 상기 사진 슬라이드를 캡쳐하는데 걸리는 대기시간동안 캡쳐되는 동영상을 미리보기 형식으로 사용자에게 보여줄 수 있다.
그리고, 본 발명은 도면에 도시 된 실시 예를 참고로 설명되었으나 이는 예시적인 것에 불과하며, 본 기술 분야의 통상의 지식을 가진 자라면 이로부터 다양한 변형 및 균등한 타 실시 예가 가능하다는 점을 이해할 것이다. 따라서, 본 발명의 진정한 기술적 보호 범위는 첨부된 특허청구범위의 기술적 사상에 의해 정해져야 할 것이다.
이상에서 설명한 바와 같이, 본 발명에 따른 휴대단말기에서의 사진슬라이드의 동영상 변환방법은, MMS의 최대 전송 개수를 초과하는 다수의 사진을 최대 전송가능용량을 고려한 적절한 용량의 동영상으로 변환하여 한번에 전송할 수 있도록 함으로써 사용자가 다수의 사진을 여러 번 전송해야 하는 불편함을 해소하는 효과가 있다.
또한 본 발명에 따른 휴대단말기에서의 사진슬라이드의 동영상 변환방법은 휴대단말기의 기종에 따라 포맷이 다른 사진을 단일 포맷의 동영상으로 변환하여 전송함으로써 서버에서 휴대단말기간 사진의 포맷을 변환해야 하는 부담을 덜어주며 그에 따른 비용 및 자원을 절감해주는 효과가 있다.

Claims (9)

  1. 다수의 사진을 선택하여 사진 슬라이드로 저장하는 단계와;
    상기 사진 슬라이드에 대해 멀티미디어 메시지 서비스(Multimedia Message Service: MMS) 전송 설정을 하는 단계와;
    상기 사진 슬라이드를 구성하는 사진의 개수에 따라 MMS의 최대 전송가능용량을 고려한 화질과 해상도의 최적 조합을 자동 설정하는 단계와;
    상기 최적 조합에 따라 사진 슬라이드를 동영상으로 자동 변환하는 단계를 포함하여 구성되며,
    상기 최적 조합은 사진 슬라이드에 포함된 사진의 개수에 따라 그 화질 및 해상도가 미리 지정된 기초 설정 값에 의해 설정되는 것을 특징으로 하는 휴대단말기에서의 사진 슬라이드의 동영상 변환 방법.

    사용자에 의해 사전 변경될 수 있는 것을 특징으로 하는 휴대단말기에서의 사진 슬라이드의 동영상 변환 방법.

    최고급 화질, 고급 화질, 보통 화질로 구분되고 상기 해상도는 640*480, 320*240, 176*144, 128*96 픽셀(pixel)로 구분되는 것을 특징으로 하는 휴대단말기에서의 사진 슬라이드의 동영상 변환 방법.
  6. 제 1항에 있어서, 상기 사진 슬라이드의 동영상 변환은
    화면에 표시되는 사진 슬라이드를 캡쳐(capture)하는 방식인 것을 특징으로 하는 휴대단말기에서의 사진 슬라이드의 동영상 변환 방법.
  7. 제 6항에 있어서, 상기 휴대단말기는
    상기 사진 슬라이드를 캡쳐하는데 걸리는 대기시간동안 캡쳐되는 동영상을 미리보기 형식으로 사용자에게 보여주는 것을 특징으로 하는 휴대단말기에서의 사진 슬라이드의 동영상 변환 방법.
  8. 제 1항에 있어서, 상기 사진 슬라이드의 동영상 변환은
    기초설정 값으로 무음 녹화를 적용하는 것을 특징으로 하는 휴대단말기에서 의 사진 슬라이드의 동영상 변환 방법.
  9. 제 1항에 있어서,
    상기 동영상의 변환이 완료되면, 변환된 동영상을 사용자가 지정한 수신처로 전송하는 단계를 추가로 포함하여 구성되는 것을 특징으로 하는 휴대단말기에서의 사진 슬라이드의 동영상 변환 방법.
