Claims (4)
- 기판 상부에 형성되어, 외부로부터 입사된 광의 강도변조를 위해 입사된 광을 분기하고 제1도파관과 제2도파관을 통해 각기 도파시킨 후 합파하는 광도파로와, 상기 광도파로가 형성된 기판 상부 전면에 형성된 유전체층과, 상기 유전체층의 상부영역에 형성되어 상기 제1도파관과 제2도파관을 통해 도파되는 각각의 광에 외부에서 인가하는 RF신호에 따라 전계를 공급하여 강도변조시키는 강도변조부로 이루어지는, 광변조기에 있어서,상기 강도변조부는 제1도파관과 제2도파관 사이, 제1도파관의 외측과 제2도파관의 외측에 대응되는 각각의 영역에, 강도변조용 브릿지가 형성된 전극으로 이루어지되,상기 각각의 전극은, 브릿지의 제1측단부와 제2측단부 각각에 상기 RF신호의 일부 반사가 시간차를 두고 발생되도록 형성된 제1반사벽과 제2반사벽;상기 제1반사벽과 제2반사벽 각각을 외부와 전기적으로 연결하는 제1연결로와 제2연결로를 포함하여 이루어지는 것을 특징으로 하는, 광 변조기.
- 제 1 항에 있어서, 상기 제1반사벽과 제2반사벽은;상기 브릿지의 제1측단부와 제2측단부에 각기 전기적으로 연결되며, 연결된 해당 브릿지의 폭보다 넓게 형성되어 입력 RF신호의 일부 반사가 발생되도록 하는 것을 특징으로 하는, 광 변조기
- 광도파로의 강도변조영역과 대응되도록 형성된 브릿지에 전계를 공급하여 상기 강도변조영역을 도파하는 광을 강도변조시키는 소정의 전극에 RF신호를 입력하는 제1과정;상기 제1과정에 따라 입력된 RF신호가 상기 브릿지의 선단부에 형성된 제1반사벽을 통해 반사된 제1RF반사신호와, 후단부의 제2반사벽을 통해 반사된 제2RF반사신호를 검출하는 제2과정;상기 제2과정에서 검출한 제1RF반사신호와 제2RF반사신호의 주기를 이용해 RF신호위상속도를 산출하는 제3과정으로 이루어지는, 광변조기의 RF신호위상속도산출방법.
- 제 3 항에 있어서, 상기 제3과정은;하기의 수학식1을 통해 상기 RF신호위상속도를 산출하는 것을 특징으로 하는, 광 변조기의 RF신호위상속도산출방법.[수학식1](Vph = RF신호의 위상속도이고, = 제1RF반사신호와 제2RF반사신호의 주파수스펙트럼상의 주기차이며, L은 강도변조영역의 총길이이다.)
