Claims (9)
- 소정 거리를 두고 대향하는 상하부 유리기판;상기 상하부 유리기판 사이에 상판은 수평으로 하판은 수직으로 배열되는 하이브리드형 배열을 갖는 다수개의 액정분자로 구성된 액정층;상기 하부 유리기판의 내측면에 배치되며, 상기 액정 분자들을 동작시킬수 있는 전계를 형성하는 스트라이프 형태의 제1 공통 전극과 화소 전극;상기 상부 유리기판 내측면에 배치되며, 상기 제1 공통 전극과 동일한 전압을 갖는 플레이트형의 제2 공통 전극;상기 플레이트형의 제 2공통 전극 기판과 액정층 사이에 삽입되며, 상기 제2 공통 전극과 함께 상기 하부 유리기판의 전극에서 발생하는 전계를 왜곡시켜 디스크리네이션 라인(disclination line)을 이동시키는 절연층;상기 상부 유리기판 외측면에 배치되며, 소정의 편광축을 갖는 제1 편광판;상기 하부 유리기판 외측면에 배치되며, 상기 제1 편광판의 편광축과 평행 또는 수직인 편광축을 갖는 제2 편광판;상기 편광판들과 상하부 유리기판들 사이에 배치되며, 상기 액정층의 리타데이션(retardation)을 보상하기 위한 위상보상 필름; 및상기 상부 유리기판의 내측면 표면에 배치되며, 소정의 러빙축을 갖는 배향막과 상기 하부 유리기판의 내측면에 배치되며 수직 방향의 배향을 하는 배향막을 포함하며,상기 배향막의 러빙 방향은 전계(Field)를 유리면에 사영했을 때 생기는 전기장 방향과 일치하거나 혹은 편광판 축과 일치하는 것을 특징으로 하는 경사 전계 구동 액정표시장치.
- 제 1항에 있어서,상기 배향막의 러빙방향은 상기 편광축과 수직방향을 가지면서 전기장 방향과는 소정의 각도를 갖도록 배치할 수 있는 것을 특징으로 하는 경사 전계 구동 액정표시장치.
- 제 1항에 있어서,상기 제 1 공통전극과 화소전극은 불투명 금속 혹은 투명금속을 사용하고, 상기 제2 공통 전극은 투명 금속을 사용할 수 있는 것을 특징으로 하는 경사 전계 구동 액정표시장치.
- 제 1항에 있어서,상기 절연층은 1~8사이의 유전율 이방성 값을 가지며, 두께는 2㎛~6㎛사이의 값을 갖는 것을 특징으로 하는 경사 전계 구동 액정표시장치.
- 제 1항에 있어서,상기 액정층의 리타데이션은 0.4~1.2의 값을 가지는 것을 특징으로 하는 경사 전계 구동 경사 전계 구동 액정표시장치.
- 제 1항에 있어서,상기 위상보상 필름의 리타데이션 값은 상기 액정 분자의 리타데이션 크기와 동일하고, 그 부호는 반대인 것을 특징으로 하는 경사 전계 구동 액정표시장치.
- 제 6항에 있어서,상기 위상보상 필림은 러빙방향과 반대방향으로 일정 각도 틸트(Tilt)되는 것을 특징으로 하는 경사 전계 구동 액정표시장치.
- 제 1항에서 있어서,상기 절연막은 컬러 필터층(Color Filter)으로 대신할 수 있는 것을 특징으로 하는 경사 전계 구동 액정표시장치.
- 제 1항에 있어서,상기 배향막의 러빙방향은 상기 상부 유리 기판에서는 상기 하부 유리기판에 전기장을 사영했을 때 생기는 전기장 방향과 수직 혹은 수평방향으로 되는 것을 특징으로 하는 경사 전계 구동 액정표시장치.
