Claims (4)
- 액정을 사이에 두고 소정 거리 대향,대치되어 있는 상,하 기판과; 상기 하부 기판의 내측면에 형성되는 투명한 카운터 전극과; 상기 카운터 전극과 상하 기판간의 거리보다 좁은 간격을 두고 이격되면서, 카운터 전극과 함께 액정내 분자를 구동시키기 위한 프린지 필드를 형성하는 투명한 화소 전극과; 상기 카운터 전극 및 화소 전극이 형성된 하부 기판과 액정층 사이 및 상기 상부 기판과 액정층 사이에 각각 형성된 배향막을 포함하는 고개구율 및 고투과율 액정 표시 장치에 있어서,상기 하부 기판의 배향막의 러빙축과 상기 상부 기판의 배향막의 러빙축이 서로 교차되도록 러빙되며, 그 프리틸트각은 1 내지 15°이고, 상기 액정내 분자의 굴절율 이방성과 셀갭의 곱(△nd)은 0.2 내지 1.2㎛인 것을 특징으로 하는 고개구율 및 고투과율 액정 표시 장치.
- 제 1 항에 있어서, 상기 하부 기판의 뒷면에는 제 1 편광판이 추가로 부착되고, 상기 상부 기판의 뒷면에는 제 2 편광판의 추가로 부착되어 있으며, 상기 제 1 편광판의 편광축과 제 2 편광판의 편광축은 서로 평행하게 배치되는 것을 특징으로 하는 고개구율 및 고투과율 액정 표시 장치.
- 제 1 항 또는 제 2 항에 있어서, 상기 하부 기판측 배향막의 러빙축은 액정을 유전율 이방성이 음인 물질을 사용할 경우에는 상기 카운터 전극과 화소 전극사이에 형성되는 전계와 약 70 내지 110° 정도의 각을 이루도록 하고, 유전율 이방성이 양인 물질을 사용할 경우에는 -20 내지 20 °정도의 각을 이루도록 하는 특징으로 하는 고개구율 및 고투과율 액정 표시 장치.
- 제 3 항에 있어서, 상기 제 1 편광판의 편광축은 상기 하부 기판측 배향막의 러빙축과 일치 또는 수직을 이루는것을 특징으로 하는 고개구율 및 고투과율 액정 표시 장치.
