The present invention relates to an automobile, and more particularly, to a head up display device of various instrument panels.
As is well known, automobiles are devices that drive themselves on land by engines powered by gasoline, diesel, or gas. Such a vehicle is driven by a driver's driving operation. The vehicle has steering devices such as a steering wheel for the driver's operation, as well as driving speed, engine speed, temperature, and fuel amount for safe driving. The instrument panel to be displayed is intensively arranged around the driver's seat. In addition, recently, the computer itself detects the abnormality of the car and displays inspection and warning signals through the instrument panel.
As a result, the instrument panel is one of the indispensable components of driving a car, and its display method is digitally displayed in various ways beyond the analog method for easier transmission. The trend is changing day by day.
However, as shown in FIG. 1, the instrument panel is normally provided on a dashboard (B) that partitions the engine room and the room, and thus is considerably lower than the driver's eye. It is located at. Accordingly, when the driver D wants to observe the driving speed or the like while driving, it is impossible in the forward driving state as shown by the solid line and the driver D bows his head forward as shown by the virtual line. Observation of the instrument cluster is possible only when the field of view is directed to the dashboard (B). Therefore, in the related art, the observation of the instrument panel is not very inconvenient while driving, and the driver D may not be able to look forward while observing the instrument panel. .
Disclosure of Invention It is an object of the present invention to provide a head-up display device for a vehicle that can easily observe various instrument panels while the driver watches the front while driving in view of the above-described conventional problems.
In order to achieve the above object, the head-up display device for a vehicle according to the present invention is provided with various sensors for sensing the driving speed, engine speed, temperature and fuel amount of the vehicle, and the like to display respective information. And a plurality of optical fibers connected to the respective sensors to display the information, respectively, and a plurality of optical fibers projecting respective information emitted from the display onto the windshield of the vehicle. It is done.
According to one preferred feature of the present invention, the display device is composed of a light emitting diode (LED), a liquid crystal display (LCD), an electroluminescent device (EL), or the like.
Accordingly, the present invention enables the driver to easily observe necessary information such as driving speed while watching the front without changing the field of vision while driving the vehicle, thereby exerting a great effect on improving the safety and convenience of driving the vehicle.
Hereinafter, exemplary embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings.
2 and 3, the head-up display device of the vehicle according to the present invention is a light emitting display device (1) for displaying a variety of information necessary for driving the vehicle, such as the driving speed of the vehicle, the number of revolutions of the engine and the temperature and fuel amount And a plurality of optical fibers 3 for projecting respective pieces of information emitted from the display element 1 onto the windshield W of the vehicle.
The display device 1 is preferably installed in the dashboard B of the vehicle and connected to various sensors (not shown) for sensing the driving speed, the engine speed, the temperature and the fuel amount, respectively. Accordingly, the display device 1 may be composed of a plurality of unit display devices independently connected to the respective sensors, or connected to the corresponding sensors so as to display independent information, respectively, as shown by a dotted line in FIG. 2. It may be composed of one display element 1 having a plurality of display regions 2, which is appropriately set in consideration of manufacturing conditions.
Since the display element 1 projects the information displayed on the windshield 3 through the optical fiber 3, the display element 1 should not only emit light properly but also display information for accurate observation of the driver D. It should be possible to accurately display the image without distortion. Accordingly, the display device 1 of the present invention is preferably composed of a flat panel device such as a light emitting diode, a liquid crystal display device, or an electroluminescent device.
On the other hand, the information of the display element 1 projected onto the windshield W through the optical fiber 3 should be easily observed by the driver D while watching the front without changing the field of view. The projection area F of the information on (W) is preferably set at a position facing the eyes of the driver D as well shown in FIG. The projection area F is set to an appropriate size, brightness, and the like so that the driver D can easily observe the projected information while not being disturbed by driving.
In this way, in order to project the light emission information of the display element 1 into the projection area F on the windshield W, an optical fiber 3 is provided between the display element 1 and the projection area F of the windshield W. In this case, the optical fiber 3 is exposed on the windshield W, and there is a great risk of damage due to contact or the like. Accordingly, it is preferable that the optical fiber 3 is embedded in the interior of the windshield W.
In the head-up display device of a vehicle according to the present invention configured as described above, various information of a vehicle required for driving is displayed on a corresponding display area 2 of the display element 1 by respective detection sensors that detect driving speeds and the like when the vehicle is driven. It is displayed and emits light. Each light emitting information of the display element 1 is then projected onto the projection area F of the windshield W through the corresponding optical fiber 3. At this time, since the projected area F of the present invention is formed at a position opposite to the eyes of the driver D, the driver D does not need to change his field of view or keep his head down as in the prior art, and he is only looking forward while driving. Various information of the required vehicle can be easily observed.
Accordingly, the convenience and safety of driving a car is greatly improved, thereby effectively preventing the risk of accidents caused by carelessness.
In the above description, the present invention has been described by only projecting various necessary information of the state of the vehicle on the windshield, but this is merely for the purpose of illustration, and the present invention is not limited thereto. . For example, a conventional instrument panel may be provided together with the head-up display device of the present invention. In this case, the driver D may operate more safely and easily.
Thus, according to the present invention, the driver can easily and easily observe the information on the vehicle state such as the driving speed or the fuel amount while watching the front of the vehicle as if the driver does not need to change the field of view or bow his head. Therefore, the present invention not only greatly improves the safety and convenience of driving a vehicle, but also has the effect of further improving the quality and reliability of the automobile.
