Claims (14)

An aerosol-generating article for generating an inhalable aerosol upon heating, the aerosol-generating article comprising:
an aerosol-generating base rod;
a mouthpiece element having a length L1 and including at least one mouthpiece filter segment formed from a fibrous filtration material;
an intermediate hollow section between the rod of the aerosol-generating substrate and the mouthpiece element, the intermediate hollow section having a length L2, and an aerosol cooling element downstream of the rod of the aerosol-generating substrate; an aerosol cooling element comprising a hollow tubular segment defining a longitudinal cavity providing an unrestricted flow channel, the length of the aerosol cooling element being less than 10 millimeters;
a support element between the aerosol cooling element and the rod of the aerosol generating substrate;
an upstream end of the aerosol cooling element abuts a downstream end of the support element;
An aerosol-generating article, wherein said length (L1) of said mouthpiece element is at least 0.4 times said length (L2) of said intermediate hollow section. An aerosol-generating article according to claim 1, wherein the length (L1) of the mouthpiece element is at least 0.6 times the length (L2) of the intermediate hollow section. The aerosol-generating article of claim 1, wherein the length (L1) of the mouthpiece element is at least 0.75 times the length (L2) of the intermediate hollow section. Aerosol generating article according to any of claims 1 to 3, wherein the length (L1) of the mouthpiece element is at least 2 millimeters longer than the length of the aerosol cooling element. An aerosol-generating article according to any preceding claim, wherein the length of the mouthpiece element is greater than 10 millimeters. Aerosol-generating article according to any of the preceding claims, wherein the mouthpiece element comprises a mouthpiece filter segment having a length at least 0.4 times the length (L2) of the intermediate hollow section. An aerosol-generating article according to any preceding claim, further comprising an upstream element provided upstream of the rod of the aerosol-generating substrate. An aerosol-generating article according to any preceding claim, wherein the mouthpiece element has a resistance to withdrawal (RTD) of less than 15 millimeters H ₂ O. An aerosol-generating article according to any preceding claim, wherein the hollow tubular segment of the aerosol cooling element has a wall thickness of less than 2.5 millimeters. The aerosol-generating article of any preceding claim, wherein the aerosol cooling element further comprises a ventilation zone at a location along the hollow tubular segment. The aerosol-generating article of any one of claims 1 to 10, wherein the rod of the aerosol-generating substrate comprises a gel composition. An aerosol-generating article according to any preceding claim, wherein the support element comprises a hollow tubular segment defining a longitudinal cavity providing an unrestricted flow channel. An aerosol-generating article according to any preceding claim, wherein the length of the intermediate hollow section is 18 millimeters or less. An aerosol-generating article according to any preceding claim, having an overall length of about 45 millimeters.
