Abstract
Description
前記励起光源からの光を吸収して波長変換し、前記励起光源からの光よりも長波長領域の光を発する波長変換部材と、を有し、
色温度が4000K以上5000K以下の光を発光する発光装置であって、
前記発光装置の可視光領域における発光スペクトルは、前記励起光源からの光がエネルギー強度の最大値を示す波長を第1の波長、前記波長変換部材からの光がエネルギー強度の最大値を示す波長を第2の波長、前記第1の波長と前記第2の波長との間で前記発光装置の発光スペクトルがエネルギー強度の最小値を示す波長を第3の波長、650nmを第4の波長として、
前記第1の波長におけるエネルギー強度と前記第3の波長におけるエネルギー強度の比は100:15〜150であり、
前記第1の波長におけるエネルギー強度と第4の波長におけるエネルギー強度の比は、100:45〜200の関係であることを特徴とする。これにより太陽光や白熱電球の光のように連続した発光スペクトルを持つ発光装置を提供することができる。また、赤色領域の発光を高めることもできる。また、演色性を高めることもできる。さらに、本発光装置は可視光を発する励起光源を用いるため、紫外線はほとんど照射されず、部材の劣化促進を防止し、紫外線の漏れ対策も施さなくてもよい。特に、前記第1の波長のエネルギー強度と前記第3の波長のエネルギー強度は、(第1の波長のエネルギー強度):(第3の波長のエネルギー強度)=100:20〜100が好ましい。高輝度を維持しつつ、高い演色性を得ることができるからである。特に、前記第1の波長のエネルギー強度と第4の波長のエネルギー強度は、(第1の波長のエネルギー強度):(第4の波長のエネルギー強度)=100:45〜100の関係であることが好ましい。これにより高輝度、かつ、特に特殊演色評価数(R9)を高め、赤色領域の発光を高めることができる。

(b)600nm以上(より好ましくは645nm以上)、700nm以下に発光ピーク波長を有する窒化物蛍光体
ここで窒化物蛍光体とは、MxAyDzおよび/またはMhAiEjDlで表される蛍光体の単体もしくは混合品をいう。
M=Sc, Y, La, Ce, Pr, Nd, Sm, Eu, Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm, Yb, Luのいずれかと、
Mg, Ca, Sr, Ba, Znのいずれかとを含む金属元素
A=Si, Geのいずれかを含む金属元素
E=Al, Bのいずれかを含む金属元素
D=Nおよび/またはOで構成される

ここでアルカリ土類アルミン酸塩蛍光体とは、MxAyDzで表される蛍光体を指す。
M=Sc, Y, La, Ce, Pr, Nd, Sm, Eu, Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm, Yb, Luのいずれかと、
Mg, Ca, Sr, Ba, Znのいずれかを含む金属元素

実施例1乃至8の発光装置は、実施の形態に係る発光装置を用いる。図1は、実施の形態に係る発光装置を示す概略斜視図である。図2は、実施の形態に係る発光装置を示す概略II−II断面図である。図3は、実施例に用いる発光素子の発光スペクトルを示す図である。図4は、Y3(Al,Ga)5O12:Ceの蛍光体の発光スペクトルを示す図である。励起光は460nmである。図5は、CaSiAlBxN3+x:Euの蛍光体の発光スペクトルを示す図である。励起光は460nmである。図6は、実施例1乃至8の発光スペクトルを示す図である。実施例に係る発光装置100は、上述の実施の形態に係る発光装置の説明を参酌するため一部説明を省略する。本明細書において発光色、色度座標は、特に明記のない限り、CIE(国際照明委員会)の定めたCIE表色系に従うものとする。
実施例9乃至17は、実施例1乃至8の蛍光物質52にさらにSr4Al14O25:Euのアルカリ土類金属アルミン酸塩蛍光体を使用したものである。図7は、Sr4Al14O25:Euの蛍光体の発光スペクトルを示す図である。励起光は400nmである。図8は、実施例9乃至17の発光スペクトルを示す図である。
比較例1乃至9は、実施例1乃至17の蛍光物質52に(Y,Gd)3Al5N12:Ceの第2のYAG蛍光体を使用したものである。図10は、(Y,Gd)3Al5O12:Ceの蛍光体の発光スペクトルを示す図である。励起光は460nmである。図11は、比較例1乃至9の発光スペクトルを示す図である。
Claims (6)
- 可視光の短波長領域の光を発する励起光源と、
前記励起光源からの光を吸収して波長変換し、前記励起光源からの光よりも長波長領域の光を発する波長変換部材と、を有し、
色温度が4000K以上5000K以下の光を発光する発光装置であって、
前記発光装置の可視光領域における発光スペクトルは、前記励起光源からの光がエネルギー強度の最大値を示す波長を第1の波長、前記波長変換部材からの光がエネルギー強度の最大値を示す波長を第2の波長、前記第1の波長と前記第2の波長との間で前記発光装置の発光スペクトルがエネルギー強度の最小値を示す波長を第3の波長、650nmを第4の波長として、
前記第1の波長におけるエネルギー強度と前記第3の波長におけるエネルギー強度の比は100:15〜150であり、
前記第1の波長におけるエネルギー強度と第4の波長におけるエネルギー強度の比は、100:45〜200の関係であることを特徴とする発光装置。 - 前記発光装置は、平均演色評価数が75以上100以下である光を発光することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の発光装置。
- 前記励起光源は発光素子であり、前記波長変換部材は蛍光物質を有することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の発光装置。
- 前記波長変換部材は、組成の異なる2種以上の蛍光物質を有することを特徴とする請求項3に記載の発光装置。
- 前記発光スペクトルは、680nmを第5の波長として、前記第1の波長におけるエネルギー強度と第5の波長におけるエネルギー強度の比は、100:25〜200であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の発光装置。
- 前記波長変換部材は、Y、La、Ce、Pr、Nd、Sm、Eu、Gd、Tb、Dy、Ho、Er、Luからなる群から選ばれる少なくとも1種希土類元素により賦活される、Be、Mg、Ca、Sr、Ba、Znからなる群から選ばれる少なくとも1種の第II族元素と、C、Si、Ge、Sn、Ti、Zr、Hfからなる群から選ばれる少なくとも1種の第IV族元素と、Al、B、Nからなる群から選ばれるNを必須とする少なくとも1種の第III族元素と、を含む窒化物蛍光体を有することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の発光装置。
