Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a bathing composition by adding calcium carbonate of specific particle sizes to a usual bathing composition mainly consisting of sodium carbonate to show a specific pH value, when it is dissolved in bath water, thus giving smooth touch to skins on bathing and refreshed feeling after bathing. CONSTITUTION:A bathing composition which contains 50-90wt.% of sodium carbonate as a major component, and shows a pH of 9-10.5, when dissolved in the bath water is combined with 0.1-10wt.%, preferably 1-5wt.% of calcium carbonate of 0.1-3m average particle size, preferably light calcium carbonate in the calcite form. The composition is preferably used in the bathing water containing over 10ppm, especially 14-70ppm of calcium ion concentration and manifests precipitation effect. When it is used in a bathing water of less than 10ppm calcium ion concentration, a water-soluble calcium salt, especially calcium chloride is added to manifest the calcium deposition effect.
