Abstract

PURPOSE:To enhance chemical resistance, transparency, curling resistance or the like of an optical recording medium, by providing an optical recording layer on a polyester film having a glass transition temperature, a modulus in flexure, a degree of crystallinity and a solution haze in respective specified ranges. CONSTITUTION:An optical recording layer is provided on a polyester film having a glass transition temperature of at least 70 deg.C, a modulus in flexure of at least 280kg/mm<2>, a degree of crystallinity of 5-40% and a solution haze of not more than 3%, thereby producing an optical recording medium. In the case of producing an optical card, for example, a polyester film is used which satisfies the above-mentioned characteristic values when being formed by extrusion of a polyester resin into a sheet form by an ordinary method is used. A hard coat layer is provided on one side of the polyester film, whereas an UV-curable layer is provided on the other side, followed by grooving and curing, then the optical recording layer is provided thereon, an adhesive is applied to the recording layer, and a polyvinyl chloride sheet is adhered thereto.
