Abstract
The internal cavity of hollow plastic panels used for insulation purposes is subdivided longitudinally by one or more layers of thin reflective sheet, i.e. metal foil or metallised plastic film, pref. coated with Al or Cr. The reflective sheet(s) may be plane or undulating. The internal reflective barriers may reduce the heat loss across a hollow panel profile of e.g. PVC, polyolefin, polycarbonate, ABS or polyester resin by approx. 50% e.g. from 2-1.05 W/m2. degrees C.
