Abstract
PURPOSE:To perform printing at high speed by winding back an ink ribbon which is fed to the forward path of a thermal head to a backward path of the thermal head with the help of an old bobbin, and not winding back the ink ribbon which is fed once in the backward path when it is fed a plurality of times. CONSTITUTION:An ink ribbon 11 is repeatedly used a plurality of times in the same section by winding back the ink ribbon 11 which is fed to a forward path of a thermal head 2 in a backward path of the thermal head 2 using an old bobbin 12. At the same time, printing can be performed in both forward and backward paths of the thermal head 2, and consequently, printing speed be accelerated. In addition, the constitution is such that the ink ribbon 11 which is fed once is not wound back when it is fed a plurality of times. This results in the repeated use of the ink ribbon a plurality of times and the subsequent automatic feed of said ribbon in the following section which is made possible. Thus it is possible to eliminate suspension of printing attributed to the turning inside out of a ribbon cassette 1 or the winding back of the ink ribbon 11.
