Abstract
PURPOSE:To automatically correct the curl of recording paper by changing the posture of nips of a pair of fixing rotary bodies corresponding to the entry direction of recording paper in accordance with the measuring result of water contents in the recording paper. CONSTITUTION:When a moving member 30 is moved right and left by the drive of a gear 35 and a rack 30b, a supporting plate 28 for supporting a press roll 22 is rotated through a long hole 30a and a shaft 29 and a segment connecting the axis between the press roll 22 and a heat roll 21 is inclined from the entry direction of the recording paper P. When the axes of two rolls are turned to backward tilting posture, back curl is generated on the recording paper, and in case of forward tilting posture, face curl is generated, so that when a curl is generated on the recording paper before insertion, reverse curl is generated to offset the original curl. In addition, a moisture sensor is fitted to a paper feeding cassette to measure the moisture of the recording paper, to curl the recording paper in accordance with the measured value and to correct the generation of the curl. Thereby, the curl can be automatically removed and the generation of paper jam can be suppressed.
