Abstract

PURPOSE:To impart antistatic performance excellent in washing resistance, by mixing a modified polyester condensate based on a metal sulfonate compound and a branched polyalkylene glycol derivative with a polyester. CONSTITUTION:A modified polyester condensate based on a metal sulfonate compound (A) of formula I (wherein x is an aromatic group, R1 and R2 are each an estrifiable group and M is a metal) and branched polyalkylene glycol derivatives (B) of formula II and/or formula III (wherein A1-A3 are each an aliphatic or aromatic hydrocarbon group, p1-p3 are each a polyoxyalkylene of formula IV, 1<=a<=200, 0<=b<a, 1<=n, R3-R5 are each a hydrocarbon group, R' is an alkylene, and m>=1) is produced. A polyester mainly consisting of alkylene terephthalate units is mixed with 0.5-30wt.% said modified polyester condensate to obtain an antistatic polyester composition.
