Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a structure capable of reliably opening by stiffening part of the outside surface of a spout panel with a fillet comprising a layer of adhesive and a strip having a specific elasticity modulus and low resistance to sealing process. CONSTITUTION: At least one fillet 56 is attached to part of one or both of the gabled rib panels 46, 47. Each fillet consists of a stiffening strip 61 and an adhesive layer 62 by which part, for example, of the gabled rib panels is secured to outside surface 63. One of the surfaces 69 of the strip 61 remains uncoated with adhesive. The strip 61 is low in resistance to adverse effects of container-sealing process and has a sufficient rigidity together with the adhesive layer 62 with at least 0.1×10<6> psi in elasticity modulus. Typical materials for the strip are metal, polyester or polycarbonate films.
