Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide an spout easy to open without tearing, delamination or deformation by attaching a stiffening fillet to a part of the inside surface of the pour spout and connecting it to the inside surface. CONSTITUTION: Two stiffening fillets 56 are placed respectively on two gable rib panels 50, 52 and extended downward from them to partially cover folded panels 41, 42 and the upper section of an end panel 29. Each fillet comprises an adhesive layer 72, an adhesive web 73, and a strip 66 of a material resistant to container sealing. The web 73 exhibits strong bonding for the covering of a container, typically for polyethylene, but contains a single material having a controlled exfoliativeness which enables the web delaminatably connect to the strip 66 with weak adhesion. When the sealed container is opened, the adhesive web 73 peels off from the strip 66, and a pour spout with smooth surface is left over.
