従来の技術 一般に金属、樹脂、木材あるいはコンクリート
等を素材としたワーク(被研磨物)の表面研磨に
は研磨ホイールが使用されている。第6図及び第
7図はこの種の従来の研磨ホイール1を示したも
ので、これは円板状の回転体2の外周面3に所定
の大きさで、かつ、短冊状の研磨布紙4が多数枚
放射状に植立固定されている。そして、上記回転
体2を所定方向に回転させ、その遠心力を利用し
て研磨布紙4の砥粒面5でワークの被研磨面を叩
いて研削研磨していた。しかしながら、これであ
るとワークの被研磨面と研磨布紙4との接触時間
がきわめて短く両者間で大きな摩擦が生じないの
で、研削研磨性が非常に悪いという問題があつ
た。

ホイール6であると、研磨布紙8はワークの被研
磨面に連続的に当接し、上記従来例に比べて研削
研磨性は向上するが、研磨布紙8はワークの被研
磨面に垂直状態で当接するので、ワークに傷がつ
くという問題があつた。しかも、研削研磨性が向
上するとはいえ、研磨布紙の布又は紙等の基材も
被研磨物に当接するので、研削研磨性の大幅な向
上は期待できない。

発明が解決しようとする問題点 上記研磨ホイール9は、研磨布紙10を円周方

くないという問題があつた。

実施例 第1図及び第2図は本発明に係る研磨ホイール

は、筒状をし、かつ、両端部に軸部21を有する
回転体22と、回転体22の外周面に螺旋状に巻
着した帯状板23と、帯状板23の表面に配置し
た長方形状の多数の研磨布紙片24とからなつて
いる。上記研磨布紙片24は布又は紙等の基材に
研磨砥粒を接着剤で固定したものであり、この研
磨布紙片24の帯状板23への取付けは次のよう
にして行う。即ち、第3図に示す如く、長尺な帯
状板23の幅lより長尺な長方形状をした多数の
研磨布紙片24を所定寸法ずつずらせ、かつ、帯
状板23に対し所定角度だけ傾斜させた状態で帯
状板23の表面23aに重層させて行き、これと
同時に、各研磨布紙片24の帯状板23の表面2
3aと接触する部分及び重層部の一部分を接着固
定し、各研磨布紙片24を帯状板23の表面23
aに接着固定する。このようにして、研磨布紙片
24の帯状板23の表面23aへの接着固定が終
了すると、次に、帯状板23の両端に食み出した
研磨布紙片24の両端部24a,24aを第4図
及び第5図に示す如く、帯状板23の裏面23b
に巻込み、かつ、この両端部24a,24aを帯
状板23の裏面23bに接着固定することによ
り、研磨布紙片24の帯状板23への取付けを終
了する。そしてこの後、研磨布紙片24を取付け
た帯状板23を上述した如く、回転体22の外周
面に螺旋状に巻着する。

た排出溝26を形成してもよい。

研磨布紙片24の両端部24a,24aは上述の
如く、帯状板23の裏面23bに巻き込まれてお
り、更に、研磨布紙片24は、回転体22の軸方
向に対して傾斜した状態に配置されており、各研
磨布紙片24の被研磨物との当接部分は、各研磨
布紙片24の一方の端部から他方の端部に向けて
連続的に移動して行くため、研削研磨作業時、研
磨布紙片24に作用する力によつて研磨布紙片2
4が回転体22から剥離することはない。又、被
研磨物の研削研磨により生じた研磨粉は、帯状部
材23間に形成された排出溝26に集まつた後除
去される。

発明の効果 上記した如く、本発明によれば、被研磨物の研

することがないので、従来に比べ研削研磨性が大
幅に向上し、しかも被研磨物に傷のつくおそれが
全くない。又研磨布紙片の両端部は帯状板の裏面
に巻き込まれているので、研削研磨作業時、研磨
布紙片に作用する力によつて研磨布紙片が回転体
から剥離することはなく、研磨ホイールの寿命を
大幅に延ばすことができる。又、長尺な被研磨物
でも簡単、かつ、容易に研削研磨することがで
き、作業性の大幅な向上を図ることができる。
