Abstract

PURPOSE:To detect defective output from a wheel speed sensor immediately upon start of vehicle by processing a vehicle speed speed, a signal representing a condition where at least one wheel is not rotating and a wheel speed signal of another wheel on same shaft. CONSTITUTION:FF circuit 10 having a reset terminal R for receiving an output signal from an AND gate 14 which conducts when rotary speed of respective wheels exceeds over 6lkm/h and a set terminal S for receiving an ignition ON signal 12 is provided. Furthermore, an OR gate 30 for receiving signals from AND gates 22a-22d which conduct when the wheel speed is minimum and the rotary speed of one wheel arranged on one axle is lower than a value obtained by multiplying the sum of rotary speeds of respective wheels on another axle by a constant of 0.75 is provided. When signals from FF circuit 10 and the OR gate 30 and a signal 20 indicating that the vehicle speed is higher than 10km/h are provided, a signal indicating that a defective signal is fed from an AND gate 40 to the wheel speed sensor is provided.
