Abstract

PURPOSE:To attain simultaneous transmission by applying time division processing to a data signal of each system generated simultaneously, forming a signal string added with a frame bit and transmitting the result after the signal is converted into an optical signal, thereby using a one wavelength optical signal. CONSTITUTION:An oscillation circuit 18 is oscillated at a frequency nfb (fb is bit rate of systems 1-n) and the result is fed to n-stage of selection circuits 20 as a clock 19 in a time base compression circuit 11. A selection clock 21 corresponding to the n-stage is outputted from the circuit 20, a sampling circuit 22 samples each data signal of a data line 17 in time division, the result is subjected to time base compression, and a frame bit is formed, then are multiplexed by a superimposing circuit 23 to output a time division multiplex signal.
