Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain an insulated wire excellent in low-temperature brazability and good in crazing resistance, by applying a coating composition comprising a specified polyol and a blocked isocyanate to a conductor and baking it. CONSTITUTION:A brazable insulated wire is produced by applying a coating composition obtained by mixing a polyol obtained by reacting a bisphenol and/or its derivative and a polyalcohol and/or an alkylene oxide with a blocked isocyanate at such a ratio that 0.4-2.0 equivalents of the isocyanate groups are present per equivalent of the hydroxyl groups to a conductor directly or through another insulating film and baking it. A desirable polyol is a bisphenol polyol of formula I or II (wherein X is formula III, IV or the like, Y is a residue of a bisphenol compound, and m+n=2-30).
