Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain insulated wire having excellent cold medium resistance and high temperature adhesiveness by coating and baking a paint composed mainly of a thermal plastic linear chain polyurethane obtained from diols and diisocyanates on a conductor through other insulating substances.
CONSTITUTION: A paint is first prepared which contains as the main component a thermal plastic linear chain polyurethane obtained from the reaction of one or more of diols with one or more of diisocyanates, and then the paint is coated on a conductor through an insulating substance having a high cold medium resistance, e.g., polyamideimide, polyvinylformal, etc., and then baked to obtain a self-adhesive insulated wire. This method enables one to obtafn self-adhesive insulated wire having excellent high cold medium resistance and excellent high temperature adhesiveness.
