Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve traveling stability and safety in the captioned device for a four wheel drive vehicle using a viscose clutch by judging whether the friction coefficient of a road is high or low from the temperature of the viscose clutch and, at the time of low friction coefficient, lowering the rolling rigidity of a rear suspension device. CONSTITUTION:The detected temperatures of the temperature sensor 12 of a viscose clutch 11 and an outside air temperature sensor 13 are inputted into a control unit 6. The control unit 6 judges whether the friction coefficient muof a road surface is high or low from the detected temperatures. As a result, when judged a low mu road, a signal is outputted to the actuators 5 of rear air suspensions 2, 2 to lower the damping force of dampers and a spring constant, and to lower the rolling rigidity of the rear wheels. Thereby, the ground contacting load of the rear wheels can be sufficiently ensured, improving traveling stability and safety.
