Abstract

PURPOSE:To measure a fine angle of rotation by measuring the quantity of displacement from the phase difference between an applied AC signal and an AC signal generated by adding the output of a magneto-resistance element composed of element wires to a position shown by a specific equation while advancing or delaying the output by a specific angle. CONSTITUTION:The contents of a ROM 33 are read out by an oscillator 31 and a counter 32 and converted by a DA converter 34 into an AC signal, which is applied to N element wires 36-1-36-4 of the magneto-resistance element provided at a position shown by the equation I (where K is an integer between 1 and N, lambda is magnetic pole width, and theta0 is an optional reference position).
