Abstract

PURPOSE:To simplify a device by opposing one end of a separating member which oscillates with a shaft as a fulcrum to a paper feed roller, bringing the separating member into contact with the feed roller at the time of an ordinary cassette while bringing the rolling roller of a bottom plate into contact with the roller instead of the separating member at the time of installing a special paper cassette. CONSTITUTION:A separating device is fixed to the side of a cassette, and an oscillating member 14 is swingably installed on a shaft fulcrum via a leaf spring 17 and a compression spring 19 while a separating member 9 is provided on its end. When an ordinary cassette is inserted, the projection 28 on the other end of the oscillating member 14 is pressed by the side plate of the cassette and oscillates against the springs 17, 19 causing the separating member 9 to be brought into contact with a feed roller 8 to send out a sheet of paper. When a special paper cassette 6b is inserted, the projection 28 enters the hole of the side wall thereof leaving the separating member 9 separated from the feed roller 8. And, instead of the separating member 9, a rolling roller 26 on the end of a cassette bottom plate 22 is lifted up by means of a spring 23 due to the disengagement of the bottom plate 22 and pressed by the feed roller 8 with a proper force, to send out a special sheet of paper.
