Abstract

PURPOSE:To ensure the supply of a printing paper to a printing part without providing a change-over mechanism, by a method wherein, a paper feed mechanism is driven for a fixed time, and if a detecting means fails to detect a printing paper within the fixed time a paper supply mechanism of a paper supply device is driven. CONSTITUTION:A main body-side drive motor 7 is started to rotate a paper feed roller 3 forward with a small-diameter part 17b of a paper pay-out roller 17 disposed opposed to stacked-up cutform papers P1. Whether a main body-side sensor 11 was turned ON, i.e. whether it detected a printing paper P, is judged. If the judgement is NO, whether a fixed time elapsed after the start of the main body-side drive motor 7 is judged. If the elapsed time is less than the fixed time, the judgement is repeatedly carried out. The state that the main body-side sensor 11 fails to be ON within the fixed time represents that a hand insertion paper P2 has not been inserted.
