Abstract

PURPOSE:To form a molded material of high density by making the volume of liquid in slurry less than the given real volume of ceramic powdery material, while incorporating a dispersant within a predetermined range and carrying out a centrifugal molding. CONSTITUTION:In a method of molding ceramic powdery material by means of sedimenting centrifugally the ceramic powdery material out of slurry in which the ceramic powdery material is dispersed in liquid with gravity lower than that of the ceramic powdery material, the volume of the liquid in slurry is made more than the real volume of the ceramic powdery material by four times or less, and a dispersant, 0.5-2.5wt.% of the weight of the ceramic powdery material (in terms of solid content), and further the average particles diameter is made 1mum or less (value of sedimentation method). Thus, the ceramic powdery material of submicron order can be uniformly and with high density by lessening the volume of the liquid in the slurry and incorporating a large volume of dispersant in the slurry.
