Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve groove profiling accuracy and to optimize a bead width by integrating the arc voltage or a welding current of each electrode in a prescribed angle range and carrying out profile control and variable control of an angle between electrodes based on the difference and sum of both integral values. CONSTITUTION:The electrodes 1 and 2 are provided at a distance (l) between the electrodes and supported by automatic aligning bearings 14 and 15. The electrodes 1 and 2 are turned via a rotating motor 7 and gears 9, 10 and 11 and welding arcs 24 and 25 carry out rotating circular motions. At this time, detected waveforms of the arc voltage or the welding current of wires 22 and 23 are integrated in the range of the turning angle phi and the areas SR and SL are calculated. Next, the positions of the electrodes 1 and 2 are corrected so that the difference between the integral values SR and SL is diminished to zero. Further, the electrodes 1 and 2 are interlocked and rotated integrally to correct the angle theta between the electrodes based on the sum of the integral values. By this method, the groove profiling accuracy is improved and the bead with is maintained to an optimum value.
