Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve groove profiling accuracy and bead width quality by detecting instantaneous values of the arc voltages or welding currents at the specific positions of respective electrodes and correcting the positions of the electrodes and interlocking and turning the electrodes integrally based on the deviation between the difference and sum thereof and set values. CONSTITUTION:The electrodes 1 and 2 are provided at a distance (l) between the electrodes and the electrodes 1 and 2 are rotated by rotation of a rotating motor 7 via gears 8, 9 and 10 and held by automatic aligning bearings 14 and 15. By this method, welding arcs 24 and 25 carry out rotating circular motions. At this time, the instantaneous values of respective arc voltages or welding currents at the positions to satisfy a formula I are detected respectively and the width direction positions of the electrodes 1 and 2 are corrected so that the difference is diminished to zero. Further, both the electrodes are interlocked and turned integrally so that the deviation between the sum of the instantaneous values and the set values is diminished to zero. Therefore, the groove profiling accuracy and the bead width quality are improved.
