Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent upward cambers of a hot rolled steel by good operational capability by rolling the steel with a modulus of direct elasticity of the upper roll larger than that of the lower roll. CONSTITUTION:As for rolling of a steel whose an upper side temp. is higher than that of a lower side in the sheet thickness direction, rolling is performed by setting a modulus of direct elasticity of the upper roll is larger than that of the lower roll. It is desirable that a relation between the moduluses is expressed by an inequality of 0.2X10<4DELTAY<1.0X10<4> (where, DELTAY=Yu-Yl, Yu is a modulus of the upper roll and Yl is that of the lower roll). For that requirement, use of a roll containing 10-20% Cr as the upper roll and a roll containing 1-7% Cr as the lower roll is desired. Hence, upward cambers generated in a rolling stage are restrained in an allowable range.
