Abstract

PURPOSE:To transmit signals in a narrow band by using LEDs different in emission wavelength to transmit a video signal and an audio signal from different optical transmission systems without mixing both signals. CONSTITUTION:On the optical transmission side, the video signal is transmitted by the transmission system consisting of a video modulating part 1, a video amplifying part 2, an LED driving part 3 for video, and an LED 4 for video, and the audio signal is transmitted by the transmission system consisting of an audio modulating part 5, an audio amplifying part 6, an LED driving part 7 for sound, and an LED 8 for sound. On the reception side, the video signal is received through an optical filter for video which permits lambdav to pass through but cuts off lambdaA, and the audio signal is received through an optical filter 13 for sound which permits lambdaA to pass through but cuts off lambdav. Thus, cross modulation between both signals does not occur, and both signals are transmitted in a band narrower than that of a conventional method because they can be transmitted in the same frequency band.
