Abstract

PURPOSE:To miniaturize a device and lower a cost, by connecting an energy absorbing capacitor between DC outputs of a rectifier, and by arranging the capacitor and a discharging resistor in parallel with each ether. CONSTITUTION:A system provided with a surge suppressor is provided with a transistor PWM inverter 1, an induction motor 2 as a load, and the surge suppressor 4. In this case, the surge suppressor 4 is composed of a three-phase full-wave rectifier 20 consisting of diodes 21-26, a capacitor 27 connected DC outputs of the rectifier 20, and a resistor 28 set in parallel with the capacitor. Then, surge waveform energy is absorbed to the capacitor 27 through the diodes 21-26 of the rectifier 20 and does not flow reversely, and so resonance is suppressed.
