Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain metallic fiber through melt spinning, by sealing the spinneret surface with a gas inert to the molten metal when the delivery of the molten metal is temporarily to be stopped, to prevent nozzle cloggings, delivery to abnormal directions, etc. at the reopening of the spinning operation. CONSTITUTION:When the objective metallic fiber is to be obtained by melt spinning process, the spinneret surface is sealed with a gas inert to the molten metal (e.g. N2 gas) in case the delivery of the molten metal is temporarily stopped to prevent troubles at the reopening of the spinning, thus enabling continuous stable spinning of the metallic fiber.
