Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a synthetic resin molding having a beautiful surface and a good antistatic property without cooling it below ordinary temperature, by causing white carbon of an oil absorption >= a specified value to absorb an antistatic agent of a pour point <= a specified temperature, adding the resulting white carbon to a synthetic resin and thermoforming the mixture. CONSTITUTION:100pts.wt. white carbon of an oil absorption >=50ml (as measured by JIS-K-5101) is caused to absorb an antistatic agent of a pour point <=40 deg.C [e.g., N,N-bis(2-hydroxyethyl)dodecylamine] in an amount equivalent to 30-120% of its oil absorption. The resulting carbon is added to a synthetic resin, and the obtained mixture is thermoformed. The amount of said antistatic agent used is equal to that in the usual case where no white carbon is used, and the antistatic effect in this case is nearly equivalent to that in the usual case. According to the above process, it is possible to obtain a synthetic resin of a beautiful surface and a good antistatic property without cooling cooling water below ordinary temperature.
