Abstract
PURPOSE: To prepare the titled composition having increased rate of crystalline phase transition and capable of preventing the deformation of the molded article and the anisotropy of the strength, by compounding a polybutene resin with dibenzylidene sorbitol, etc.
CONSTITUTION: 100pts.wt. of a polybutene resin is compounded with 0.1W5pts.wt. of dibenzylidene sorbitol or bis(methylbenzylidene) sorbitol. The additive increases the formation temperature of tetragonal crystal and suppresses the supercooling. The size of the spherulite of hexagonal crystal is reduced, the orientation of the molecular chain is suppressed, and a molded article having uniform and balanced strengths can be obtained. The rate of transition from the tetragonal crystal to the hexagonal crystal is increased, and the shrinkage of the molded article is suppressed. Addition of ≤1pt.wt. of a higher fatty acid metallic soap to the composition suppresses the decomposition of the additive, and gives more desirable effects.
