Abstract

PURPOSE:To form needle-like particle CaF2 of single crystal state, by dripping an aqueous solution of Ca(OH)2 into water during introducing a CO2 gas into water to give needle-like particle CaCO3 and reacting the CaCO3 with a hydrofluoric acid. CONSTITUTION:An aqueous solution of CA(OH)2 whose solubility is optionally raised with saccharose is continuously dripped or poured to water into which a CO2 gas or a CO2 gas-containing gas is introduced while adjusting the aqueous solution to a proper flow rate to successively produce needle-like particle CaCO3. Then the CaCO3 is reacted with hydrofluoric acid to give needle-like CaF2 having 1-100mum length and 0.1-5mum breadth.
