Abstract

NEW MATERIAL:The fluorine-containing monosubstituted pyrrole having 1-4C perfluoroalkyl group on 3-site. EXAMPLE:3-Trifluoromethylpyrrole. USE:Useful as an intermediate for pharmaceuticals and agricultural chemicals and as a raw material for electrically conductive polymer. A guanidine derivative having excellent physiological activity can be easily derived from the titled novel compound. It can be used also as a raw material for a fluorine-containing polymer having electrical conductivity. PREPARATION:The objective novel compound can be produced by decarbonating a 3-perfluoroalkylpyrrole-4-carboxylic acid (the carbon number of the perfluoroalkyl group is 1-4). The decarbonation reaction is carried out in a solvent (e.g. ethanolamine) in the presence of a copper catalyst at 150-250 deg.C preferably in an inert gas stream such as nitrogen.
