Abstract

PURPOSE:To record information to both faces of a disk by allowing a pair of access movable parts to oppose the upper and the lower faces of the disk and recording it by a magnetic field of an electromagnetic actuator of the other access movable part. CONSTITUTION:An optical head 1 is provided with the first access movable part 3 positioned in the lower part of a disk 2 and the second access movable part 4 positioned in the upper part of the disk 2, and records information to both faces of the disk 2, or reproduces the information recorded to both the faces of the disk. Also, for instance, recording is executed by utilizing a leakage magnetic field from a magnet or a coil of focus actuators 3c, 4c. In such a way, the information can be recorded to both faces of a disk-like recording medium by a compact constitution.
