Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain the titled composition having excellent moldability, heat- resistance and mechanical strength and giving a molded article having good appearance and low mold shrinkage and anisotropy, by compounding a polyphenylene sulfide polymer with a fibrous reinforcing material and calcium carbonate having specific particle diameter. CONSTITUTION:The objective polyphenylene sulfide polymer composition can be produced by mixing (A) 25-60wt.% of a polyphenylene sulfide polymer preferably containing >=70mol.% of the unit of formula with (B) 5-50wt.%, preferably 10-45wt.% of a fibrous reinforcing material having L/D ratio of >=5 (D is diameter and L is length of the fiber) and, as necessary, added with a collecting agent or a stabilizer, (C) 10-70wt.% of calcium carbonate having a volume-average particle diameter of 0.5-7mum, preferably 1-5mum and, as necessary, (D) fillers having various shapes, plasticizer, mold-releasing agent, stabilizer, other polymer, etc.
